Tensile Fatigue Behavior of Polyester and Vinyl Ester Based GFRP Laminates—A Comparative Evaluation

Fatigue loading is critical to fibre reinforced polymer composites due their anisotropic and heterogenous nature. This study investigated the tensile fatigue behaviour of polyester vinyl ester based GFRP laminates understand aspects failure mode life under cyclic loading. with two different resin systems (polyester ester), stress ratios (0.1 0.5) environmental conditions (air water) were at an applied 80%, 60%, 40% ultimate capacity. Based on parameters (i.e., types, ratio, conditioning, maximum stress), a model was proposed. Results show that system plays great role in while ratio condition significantly affect laminates. The types used as input proposed are unique contribution.
